We start with a visit to the Deep South Pioneer Museum. The Deep South Pioneer Museum (DSPM), located in Ogema, Saskatchewan, is the largest community owned museum in western Canada. With 31 buildings on ten acres of grounds, plus more than 150 pieces of vintage farm machinery, the collection of the DSPM is a treasure trove of pioneer artifacts.
Come explore the past at DSPM's pioneer village, discover the evolution of prairie farming by examining its machinery collection, and catch a glimpse of the distant past with ancient fossils and aboriginal artifacts. You will never think of the "Deep South" the same way again.
Have a delicious lunch in the community hall before we make our way to the train station and board.
Discover history and heritage as you ride under prairie skies. Come for a leisurely ride through the open prairies with a guide who shares local historical facts. The Ogema train tour leaves Ogema Train Station and goes to Horizon, Sask, where you receive an exclusive tour of a 1922 Federal Grain Elevator and then return to the Ogema Train Station.
